Gabriele Minì, driving for MP Motorsport, claimed the top spot in the opening practice session of the Melbourne Formula 2 round. Despite these setbacks, the session resumed, and Minì returned to the top of the times on his following lap, only to be usurped by León and Tsolov.
In the final 10 minutes, León pipped his teammate by a tenth to go quickest, but Minì secured top spot once again. The session ended with Minì in the lead, León and Câmara following, and Tsolov in fourth. Rodin Motorsport teammates Alexander Dunne and Martinius Stenshorne were sixth and seventh, while Ritomo Miyata, Duerksen, and Kush Maini rounded out the top 10.
